The September 2006 issue of MISQE included the article “IT in 2010: The Next Frontier” by Heather Smith and James McKeen. Chris Curran, a member of the newly formed CIO Advisory Board, responds to specific points in the article, which are noted below in italics. In general, Curran believes the IT executives who responded to Smith and McKeen’s 2005 survey about IT in 2010 were a little too optimistic in their progress to date.
